News and Events
If you want receive our informal email eNewsletter, which contains a photo of Team ATC members and finds for the month, just let us know. It comes out once or twice a month, depending on whether we've actually found anything to show you! Just email tlaufer@hotmail.com to be added to the list.

January 5, 2012: The new ATC University hoodies and sweatshirts are in! They are just as dumb as the T-shirts, but they will keep you warmer this winter. Check the gear page for details. Get yours to match your own school colors. Click the picture bar below for more info. In other news, Garrett has a mini double-D coil that fits the AT Pro and the AT Gold, and we are running photo caption contests on the ATC Facebook page. The latest ATC newsletter is out as of today, so read it and find out more about these subjects, as well as the current top secret ATC project! Not on the email list? Sign up! (See top of page). We just added a couple more newspaper articles to the collection below in case anyone is interested in reading about the GMA spot that ran last July.

July 10, 2011: Turn on GMA this Thursday! KG and the Ringmaster to appear on Good Morning America this Thursday! Good Morning America! KG and the Ringmaster will likely be appearing this Thursday on GMA. Not exactly sure why they wanted to film us, but they did. Filmed about eight hours of footage, but as usual, 95% of the ignorance had to be censored. We don't know much more about it than that, so we'll be as surprised as everyone else at what actually airs.

April 21, 2011: KG and Ringy have been tearing it up with the new AT Pros. Check out the new ATC Rifle Casing Archive to see some of the recents finds. Also, some great coin firsts in just this past weekend: Jason Sage (of Montana) found his first silver dollar (1894O), T.O. found his first Barber half (1907D), and the Ringmaster found his first seated quarter (and oldest ever US coin - 1854)!!! Check out the photographs
on the ATC Facebook page or our own ATC Finds page for more info and nectar.

Mar 2, 2011: Garrett AT Pro Recovery Time Test: This is an awesome new detector with an incredible set of features. Check out this short video of KG and the Ringmaster field testing the recovery time. This thing is super light, waterproof, has number readouts, notch discrimination, and the list goes on... It's a very exciting new machine. Check the Hall of Fame to see the 1837 bust quarter that Steve M. of Texas dug up with the AT Pro!!!

Jan 24, 2011: Urban Arch Prize Winners: Here are just a couple of winners from the Urban Archaeology winter giveaway thingy. Hundreds of prizes were given out, and fun was had by all. See the December First entry below for more info and links to UA.

Dec 12, 2010: Hey! Look here children, at the newly available Team ATC membership patches, which are quite collectible, colorful, and will undoubtedly clash with anything you wear. These are high quality 3” embroidered emblems that authoritatively announce to the world that you are a serious, experienced metal detectorist. Worn properly, and when seen by other “regular” treasure hunters, these bold badges will cause them to cower in fear and relinquish any potential juice pockets to you. Sew one onto your breast plate today. Be the alpha dog in the pack of sniveling rodents and order your piece of metal detecting history right now.

Dec 1, 2010: WIN PRIZES: Ryan O’Shea at UrbanArchaeology.org is having a great holiday giveaway this month. No strings attached. Really. Silver, coins, other great prizes, and then some not so great prizes (pull tabs, bottle caps, lumps of coal, etc.). Ha! Just go to the site, enter, and hopefully win something awesome. As Gene Simmons says, you’ve got nothing to lose! Check out the prizes here: Urban Archaeology.

Nov 1, 2010: EMD6 is here! Ignition of Ignorance. Get the dumbest detecting DVD ever made. Available on Ebay, Amazon, and this website! It's all bad. Previous customers get the usual discount when ordering direct from ATC. Read about this latest compilation in the EMD series on the DVDs page. Be sure to ask about the discount if you haven't already done so.

Oct 27, 2010: A new Team ATC You Tube video is out there for your viewing pleasure right now. It's the year 2010 condensed into 15 minutes of obnoxiousness, featuring the usual gang. It's a must-see for any serious Team ATC member. Watch it here (push play at top of this page), or watch it on You Tube or Facebook, or download it directly: Download.

Oct 1, 2010: Garrett is introducing another exciting new AT Pro metal detector very soon, which will have the new double D coil and will be submergable to ten feet under water! Some details are available now on the garrett.com site, and we will post all info on the ATC website as soon as they are available for sale.

Sept 15, 2010: Garrett is introducing the ACE350 metal detector with a new Double-D coil and more powerful enhancements than than the other ACE models! This looks like a great, lightweight, midrange detector. We are running a special on the ACE350 package from Sept 15 through Dec 31, 2010. Check out the details here: ACE350.

Sept 1, 2010: Ringy found yet another half dollar last weekend!!! Team ATC has not found any silver dollars for a couple of years now, but weirdly, they have blown away the past years' records for halves. This is the 12th or 13th half dollar this year, and it's only 2/3 over. That's approximately 66.67%, which means we have about 33.33% of the year left to hunt. Mama. Crazy how streaky this hobby can be, but that's part of what makes it interesting and fun. Mama Dada. Mama. Coins are delicious and delectable. Why? Why is it so?

August 20, 2010: Jonny R. made the ATC Hall of Fame again with his first ever silver dollar find earlier this month. We posted some cool finds by John H., our Civil War go-to-guy, on Facebook a while back, but we are just now getting around to updating this page. It's been a crazy summer. The latestest newsletter is going out today. Better late than never! Sign up to recieve a copy if you aren't on the mailing list already. We still have lots of great summer weather ahead. Get out there and use it!

April 2010: Team ATC Camo Gear: Nobody demanded that we make a hat to match the camo T-shirt. So we did. Sneak up on the coins in one of these Team ATC bad boys, and you'll never be the same! Strike terror into the hearts of unsuspecting relics. Check the new Team ATC Facebook page for more tips on using your Team ATC camo gear. GO to the gear page for more info by clicking here.

April 1, 2010: Free ATC Ringtones: No, it's not an April Fools joke. It's as real as the next pitted zinc penny you will dig up this year. Just when you thought you would never read about anything this stupid, here you are reading this. Team ATC now has custom ringtones for your phone, and they're FREE!!! Read more and go listen to them here.

March 31, 2010: 2010 Penny Blog Update: The new 2010 Lincoln Cent design has been chosen. We now have "shield pennies". Read all about the future of our pennies and check out the new design.

Mar 2010: Team ATC is now on Facebook! We're not really sure what Facebook is, but we're there, baby! Just another place to keep yourself up to date on breaking news in the important world of extreme metal detecting... I don't think you have to sign in or have an account to see the page, so go take a look if you're so inclined:

Mar 2010: ATC Treasure Box found in Montana!!! Brian H. and family located the treasure with a Garrett ACE250, and they are now the proud owners of the box, the treasure contents, including several silver coins and an 1869 seated half dollar, a bunch of other garbage, and the prizes that come with finding the box: ATC gear (hat, shirt, stuff), as well as a limited print by local wildlife artist Roger Wyant. Details of the find and more pictures can be found HERE. There are two more boxes out there. Here are your hints: IA & NC.

Feb 2010: You didn't ask for it, but we made it available: Extreme Metal Detecting music. Why? Because we can. Get the full album Way Big by No Spokes and the ATC theme song Detector Boys by Justin Saylor on CD or via email to upload to your ipod or MP3 player. Music details: Click here!.

Sep/Oct 2009: ATC tokens reported found! Lucky winners get an ATC DVD whether they want it or not. Last month, Jimmy G. found an ATC token on the beach during a detecting session in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. Another find came from a park in Council Bluffs, Iowa by JJP. A couple more were found on the Outer Banks (NC) by Danny E. and Ray M., and they also found an 1851 $2.5 gold piece and an 1855 seated dime! Awesome! Check Ray and Danny out at their site: www.outerbanksnc.net.

ATC Treasure Box Status
Three wooden treasure boxes were buried over the past couple of years, each containing silver coins and other not-so-valuable items. Each box contains at least one seated half dollar. Here is the current last known status of these boxes. The ATC book will lead you right to them, by the way. Click on the pictures of the boxes that have been found to see more pictures and details.

Lose Something? Team ATC's Search Team Can Help
If you lost a wedding ring or other metal item locally, call Team ATC. We can help you find it, and depending on the circumstances, we often do searches for free. If you have a general idea where it was lost, call as soon as possible, especially if the item is under water, because the longer it sits, the more chance it has to be swept further from its original position. As well, the memory of how and where it was lost will begin to fade. We've been called to locate things as small as rings and as large as underground pumps. Email us or call 406 560-0997 or 406 691-0504 for help.
